Founded in 2000, the Leesburg Animal Park’s goal is to entertain and educate our community by providing a fun and family-friendly park with unique programs that involve interactive experiences with animals.  If this sounds exciting to you, please consider submitting an application!

We’re currently hiring part-time cashiers and birthday party hostesses.  Certain positions do not require experience, we will train you!  To be considered, please submit an Employment Application via email to admin@leesburganimalpark.com

Internships

  • Each program commitment is for 12-16 hours per week. Length of term and starting/ending dates are flexible.  Applicants should indicate availability when submitting their application
  • Spring Session: 
    • February 1st – April 30th, application deadline January 15
  • Summer Session:
    • May 1st – July 31st, application deadline April 15
  • Fall Session: 
    • August 1st – October 31st, application deadline July 15
  • Winter Session: 
    • November 1st – January 31st, application deadline October 15

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must have interest and enthusiasm for conservation and wildlife education
  • Must be comfortable engaging with audiences of all ages
  • Must be willing to take initiative and be motivated to seek new learning opportunities
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must be willing to work in both solo and team situations
Conservation Education Internship Program
  • Interns may assist with one or more of the following:
  • Learn and perform basic husbandry for a variety of domestic and exotic animals
  • Maintain enrichment calendar, and create new enrichment for a variety of domestic and exotic animals
  • Assist staff with exhibit maintenance.
  • Assist in animal maintenance. May include grooming, nail trims, deworming etc.
  • Learning to maintain animal records, observing animal behavior and recording an ethogram, participating in animal training programs etc.
  • Engage with the public during informal educational animal presentations. May include a live animal or biofacts
  • Maintenance of park grounds
  • May be scheduled for a Zoo-To-You offsite program
Animal Care Internship Program
  • Interns may assist with one or more of the following:

  • Assist in animal maintenance. May include grooming, nail trims, deworming etc.
  • Learning to maintain animal records, observing animal behavior and recording an ethogram, participating in animal training programs etc.
  • Engage with the public during informal educational animal presentations. May include a live animal or biofacts
  • Maintenance of park grounds
  • May be scheduled for a Zoo To You offsite program
